The Van Kuijk Quartet’s international accolades boast First, Best Beethoven, and Best Haydn Prizes at the 2015 Wigmore Hall International String Quartet competition; First Prize, and an Audience Award at the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition; as well as becoming laureates of the Aix-en-Provence Festival Academy. They were BBC New Generation Artists from 2015-17, as well as ECHO Rising Stars for the 2017-18 season.
Following such high success early in their career, the ensemble is an established presence at major international venues, performing at the Wigmore Hall, London; Philharmonie de Paris, Auditorium du Louvre, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, and Salle Gaveau, Paris; Tonhalle, Zurich; Wiener Konzerthaus and Musikverein, Vienna; Royal Concertgebouw, Amsterdam; Berliner Philharmonie; Kölner Philharmonie; Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg; Gulbenkian, Lisbon; Tivoli Concert Series, Denmark; Konserthuset Stockholm; and at festivals including the BBC Proms, Cheltenham, Heidelberg, Lockenhaus, Davos, Verbier, Aix-en-Provence, Montpellier/Radio France, Evian, Auvers-sur-Oise, Stavanger and Trondheim (Norway), Concentus Moraviae (Czech Republic), Haydn/Esterházy (Hungary), and Eilat (Israel).
Upcoming tours will see the Quartet make highly anticipated debuts at the Carnegie Hall in New York City, Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Recital Centre and UKARIA in Australia, and Shanghai Symphony Hall.
The Van Kuijk Quartet records exclusively for Alpha Classics. Their debut recording, Mozart, was released to outstanding critical acclaim - CHOC de Classica, DIAPASON D'OR DECOUVERTE. Following celebrated discs of Debussy and Ravel, and Schubert, they return their exploration of Mozart with two further releases this season. The first features the String Quartets K421 and K387, and the second presents the Viola Quintets K515 and K516 with Adrien La Marca.
The Van Kuijk Quartet was resident at Proquartet, Paris, where they studied with members of the Alban Berg, Artemis, and Hagen quartets. Having taken their first steps as students of the Ysaye Quartet, the quartet have since worked with Günter Pichler at the Escuela Superior de Mùsica Reina Sofia in Madrid, supported generously by the International Institute of Chamber Music, Madrid.

Fondé en 2012 à Paris, le Quatuor Van Kuijk a accumulé les récompenses en quelques années, affirmant ainsi une personnalité et un talent hors du commun. Elu ≪ Rising Stars ≫ pour la saison 2017/2018 par le réseau ECHO qui réunit les plus grandes salles de concert européennes, le quatuor a remporté en 2015 le Premier Prix du ≪ Wigmore Hall String Quartet Competition ≫, assorti des prix Haydn et Beethoven, et a été ‘BBC New Generation Artists’ de 2015 à 2017. En 2013, le Quatuor Van Kuijk a remporté les Premier Prix et Prix du Public au Concours international de Trondheim en Norvège. Il est également ‘Lauréat HSBC’ du festival d’Aix-en Provence.
Très présent sur les grandes scènes internationales, le Quatuor Van Kuijk est invité à se produire au Wigmore Hall, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Auditorium du Louvre, Musikverein de Vienne, Radio Bavaroise à Munich, Philharmonies de Berlin, Luxembourg, Cologne, Hambourg et Paris, Tonhalle de Zurich, Concertgebouw d'Amsterdam, Fondation Gulbenkian à Lisbonne, Frick Collection (New York), Lincoln Center (New York), Phillips Collection (Washington DC), Salle Bourgie (Montréal), mais également en Asie (Taïwan, Japon, Hong-Kong, Chine) et en Australie.
Pour la saison à venir, le quatuor fera ses grands débuts au Carnegie Hall de New-York, au Sydney Opera House, au Melbourne Recital Center ou encore au Shanghai Recital Hall.
La collaboration du quatuor avec le label ALPHA Classics fait une place toute particulière à Mozart et après deux enregistrements salués par la critique (CHOC de Classica, Diapason d’or découverte, Choix de France Musique), le quatuor poursuit son aventure mozartienne en compagnie de l’altiste Adrien La Marca et met à honneur deux quintettes à cordes pour son prochain album. Un disque de musique française ainsi qu’un autre consacré à Schubert complètent sa discographie.
Après avoir étudié auprès des plus grands (Quatuors Ysaÿe, Alban Berg, Artemis…), et désireux de transmettre à son tour sa passion et son expérience, le quatuor enseigne la musique de chambre au Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional d’Aubervilliers-La Courneuve (CRR 93) depuis 2018.
Anima Music Foundation et Mécénat Musical Société Générale sont les principaux mécènes du Quatuor Van Kuijk. Le quatuor est également soutenu par la SPEDIDAM et par les cordes Pirastro.
