NEW RELEASE, MOZART QUINTETS WITH ADRIEN LA MARCA
As in its Schubert recording in 2018, the Quatuor van Kuijk likes to delve into a composer’s youthful output and then measure his evolution by confronting it with his mature works. Hence, after recording two of Mozart’s early string quartets in 2016, the French group, here joined by violist Adrien La Marca, voted ‘Revelation’ at the Victoires de la Musique Classique in 2014, now offers the String Quintets K515 and K516. These two large-scale works dominate Mozart’s instrumental output in the year 1787, which ended with the premiere of Don Giovanni. They show us a composer at the height of his creative powers, in a genre to which he had not returned for fourteen years and which he here brought to a high degree of formal perfection.

We are honored and thrilled to welcome the Magenta Quartet , who will join us for an exceptional program with La Belle Saison The program will feature: Quartet for 4 Violins by G. Bacewicz Verklärte Nacht by A. Schoenberg Octet by F. Mendelssohn We will be performing together at the following events: • September 19 – Festival de Sceaux • January 10 – Les Allées Chantent • January 18 – Théâtre de Saint-Omer • January 30 – Théâtre de Coulommiers • February 9 – Le Méjan in Arles • February 10 – Les Bouffes du Nord

We are thrilled to announce the release of our latest album, Impressions Parisiennes , on Alpha Classics! This project is especially dear to us, as it celebrates the richness and elegance of the French repertoire through transcriptions of masterpieces by Ravel, Satie, Debussy, Poulenc, and Fauré. These composers, emblematic of French music, have profoundly influenced musical history with their sensitivity and refinement. To complete this tribute, we are pleased to present an original composition by Baptiste Trotignon . His piece, titled Ces Messieurs, also pays homage to these five composers by offering a contemporary and original resonance that blends harmoniously with the rest of the program. We hope you will enjoy discovering this album as much as we enjoyed preparing it.
